Sand Canyon Trail Work

The Kokopelli Bike Club had a trail maintenance day at Sand Canyon. We repaired a major drainage issue where the trail was literally washed away. A few hours later and much large rock movement it was repaired.

FAT BIKING BOGGY/BEAN CANYON

Went out on Sunday to ride Boggy Draw and Bean Canyon along with TR Larson, Shawn Gregory and Paul Adams. IT was definitely EARLY season conditions out there with a mix of dust, mud and snow drifts. We totalled 31.6 miles and 2600 feet of climbing riding Italian Canyon, Maverick, Boggy and all of Bean Canyon on the fat ones. 3 hours and 30 minutes of moving time. Yeah, the conditions were slow for sure and toting a 35 pound fat bike doesn't help matters.

It's Been Awhile......

I haven't posted in a while due to many things.......... first of all most of my recent activities and adventures all get posted via Facebook and time slips away to sit down and post on the blog. I will try harder to keep it up to date going forward.

Recap of the last couple of months........ I didn't do very well at the 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo in February. Only 12 laps this year. Some 12 hour races coming up soon.
My days off from the Sheriffs office have been during the weekdays so I have been going to places such as Sedona, Phoenix, Moab and Fruita to ride. Laura has suffered from not seeing me much which could be good or bad. LOL!! 12 hour shifts and going riding have taken a lot of my time away from home. I also just three days wrenching at Kokopelli Bike and Board on my days off. They have been slammed. I feel like an orphan being gone from home so much. Today I have my fourth day off and will spend it around the house and get out on the bike and ride some asphalt. It's good to be home.
