A new year is amongst us and that means a new year of training and racing. Next race is closing in on me already.....January 23rd is the next SoCal endurance 12 hour race in Temecula, CA.
With the full moon on New Year's eve Laura and I took the opportunity to enjoy the moon and go up to Lizard Head Pass to xc ski. Laura's friend Amanda and her daggy Tess joined in on the fun as well. Frigid cold at around 0 degrees. We skied for 2 hours and headed back to Rico around 11.30pm and stopped in at the Enterprise Bar for some drinks and ended staying out until 3.30am. What a long day.
Saturday my bro-in-law and I went out for a skin above the house on our tele skis. What a perfect day. We were out for 4 hours with 1600 feet of climbing. Didn't bring the avalanche beacons or probes so we didn't get a chance to ski the big avalanche chute we crossed...next time.
